Thanks to Faithboxes Devotion- Everyday Faith ROOTS Edition 2 / / No. 1
To be declared a son or daughter in Christ is not something we have to strive for- it is a free gift from God to all who would receive it. While it’s easy to focus on salvation as a personal choice, historically salvation was inherently communal – it was a personal decision to live as part of the community of Christ, and your personal salvation was constantly reaffirmed by that community so that whenever you questioned your identity as a son or daughter the community was there to remind you who you really are.
“For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with pleasure and will- to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves.” -Hebrews 2:11
So happy and thankful that all of our family Was chosen!
