Do not Rejoice in This!!

Feel free to read Matthew 10 before continuing! Hint: there will be many verses that can be read today.

Okay, here is today’s message:

Lambs cannot be as tactic as wolves. As lambs, believers, we cannot adopt the tactics of the world. The world will use evil tactics against us, but we should remain innocent.

“I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves.” – Matthew 10:16

Our heart has the same capacity of evil as wolves do. We may not be doing the same thing, but we can use evil tactics too. Whether it’s our words or our actions. Pain and suffering is a part of the process and we need to get prepared for it. Get this, God is and has been preparing us for the pain and suffering in our lives since the beginning. Unfortunately, it only gets harder from here.

We will face many trials, but guess what? We can find joy through the trials!

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” -James 1:2-4

If we want to lead, we have to be prepared to be devoured. When we step into leadership, we just signed ourselves up for the process of pain. At every new level, there’s a devil. Our “wonderful” plans will be put through the process of pain.

God didn’t say we wouldn’t suffer. He says we will have so much sorrow, so many trials, so much pain. BUT we won’t be alone. According to the scripture, the lamb wins. Jesus overcame the pain by being the sacrificial lamb.

If possible read, Luke 10:1-23

“However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” -Luke 10:20

Our joy had better go deeper than the blessings He gave us, the talents He gave us. We better go so deep down that we can recognize that we truly are called Children of God. The Lord gives and he takes away, but blessed be His name (Job 1:21). We will go through pain and execution. Even though the wolves slay the lambs of the world, God will raise the lambs of the world.

Verse of the Day:

Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.” -1 Peter 4:12-13

If God never did another good thing for us, what He did in and with Jesus is enough. Want to learn more? Read John 16-20 (upon parents approval).
