eyes for eternity. hearts for heaven.

My church (Stonecreek Church) came up with a series called “Eyes for Eternity. Hearts for Heaven.” I want to share what I received from the message on Sunday from Senior Pastor, Steven Gibbs. Also, Happy Spring!

We will be reading 2 Corinthians 5:14-21 (click here for passage)

Life on EarthEternity in Heaven
This is such a short time. Let us make our time on earth, effect our way into eternity in heaven! Let our desire be to accomplish something worthy of eternity. This last forever. We need to make eternity our priority, for it lasts forever! People may take our lives, but they can never take our freedom.

“The love and fear of God more and more inflamed my heart.”

St. Patrick

We love sharing good news. The reality is our country, culture, etc. could use good news. We have good news, transformational news. God has positioned us in just the right place to share good news.

We know something. We know that Christ died for all of us. Why keep it to ourselves? Let us share the good news! The love of Christ holds us up. It’s what controls us, it’s what compels us. The love of Christ will hold you, if you let him.

We all want to control something. We should let the love of Christ control us. We begin to be controlled by the opinion of other people, our finances, etc. When Gods love controls us we become a conduit. What is controlling you?

“There are no ordinary people. You have never talked to a mere mortal. It is immortals who we joke with, work with, marry, snub, and exploit.”

C.S. Lewis

We meet people who have an eternal destination. We have the privilege to help direct them to an eternity in heaven. We should move from being selfish to becoming servants. When we transition into servants, we become un-selfish (when we share good news)!

“In Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, and not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.”

2 Corinthians 5:18-20

We stepped away from God’s best, we stepped into a life of wandering in darkness, and God sent Jesus to reconcile us. Now that we are reconciled, let us be ambassadors (Ephesians 6:19-20 -click here for verses!) for God full time! Without us, they will not now. Without us, someone could stay in darkness and live without God. What a great honor we have to tell someone the good news!

Let’s recap:

  1. Pray that God gives you opportunity.
  2. Love people ♡
  3. Share. Remember how we moved from death to life. What are we grateful for that God has done for us? Just share that! God has given you an opportunity to share, so share! For, we have been reconciled in Christ.

We all need eyes for eternity and hearts for heaven!

Bible Verse of the Week:

For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite.”

Isaiah 57:15

  2. Madison this is good! I love this, “Eyes for Eternity” and “Hearts for heaven.” (Something we all need) I have a friend whose business card reads Ambassador for Christ. What an evangelist she is, also. You gave some great pointers to pray about and act upon. Love always, Nana 💕
