Give to a Child in Need

Just a little reminder- If you are reading this as an email, click on the title (in this case, Give to a Child in Need) to be directed to the website where you can see any additional content!

It is officially December. Holy Moly! Winter is my new favorite time of the year. We are able to give gifts to those we love or don’t even know. To me, that is the best feeling in the world. Seeing the excitement in someone’s face when they are tearing wrapping paper off of a box is like no other feeling. I can’t even imagine how good parents must feel seeing their children’s overly-excitedness on Christmas morning! I am still a kid and let me just say, Christmas is truly the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Enough, talk about Christmas Morning! Today, I want to share a quick way to provide a child in need in Africa with a gift. Some families cannot celebrate Christmas and others don’t even know the feeling of opening a gift. I would like for everyone to have a gift on Christmas morning and Operation Christmas Child gives us the opportunity to do that! You can do it for $25 by going to:

https://www.samaritanspurse.org/operation-christmas-child/buildonline/

Steps:

1). After going to the website above, click on Start Building

2). Choose the Gender and Age of who you want to provide a present to

3). Now, choose what you want to give to the boy or girl. Simply click on the picture of the item(s). It will say something like- Small Toys > Choose 3. That is just an example, but I wanted to let you know that there is a certain limit to certain amount of items!

4). Now press Next to move on OR Adjust Shoebox to make any changes

5). If you pressed Next, there will be an option of typing a quick letter to the recipient and you can also send your “shoebox” with a picture of you and your family.

6). Now, you can either build another shoebox or Check Out. An additional $25 will be added at the checkout if you decide to build another shoebox.

One of my favorite Christmas Songs-

Bible Verse of the Day:

“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” -Luke 2: 11-12

  1. I couldn’t agree more. Christmas is truly magical. And it’s not primarily because of Santa or presents. It’s because of the light of Jesus that shines around the world so prevanlently. It’s the love in our hearts & the spirit of giving. After all, love is the greatest command, right?!? When we broaden our horizons and love outside of our little world, it absolutely brings a deep fulfillment that the world is bigger then us & that we can bless others. Tis the season! Now, let’s make some hot cocoa today & sing Christmas carols! XO

  2. I LOVE doing shoe boxes with my family and at my church. we started doing shoe boxes with my church approximately three years ago. It truly is nice to see a child’s face as they are opening a shoe box. My sister, Ivana loves packing shoe boxes as much as I do.
